LINNE Industries, maker of the PondHawk® solar-powered pond aeration system, announced today the addition of Shaun Donahue as Senior Advisor, Golf Course Agronomy. Donahue, a golf industry veteran, serves as Golf Course Superintendent at Tidewater Golf Club in North Myrtle Beach.
“We’re delighted to have Shaun on the LINNE team,” said LINNE Industries President and Co-Inventor Sandra Burton. “As someone who’s been in the trenches and knows what works for golf courses, Shaun is a valuable resource for other golf superintendents. He knows what it takes to keep a golf course—including its water assets—beautifully maintained.”
Donahue has served as Superintendent at Tidewater Golf Club for nearly two decades. Tidewater, with play along the Intracoastal Waterway, has breathtaking views of the South Carolina Lowcountry…and four PondHawk Systems installed. Over the years, Shaun led other initiatives that improved the course for golfers as well. He improved sunlight accessibility by trimming and removing excess trees, renovated greens to return them to their original size, improved miles of drain lines, and upgraded the irrigation system. He is also a Past President of the Palmetto Golf Course Superintendents Association.
“Shaun truly has a wealth of information to share with other golf course superintendents,” Sandra Burton added. “He is on hand to explain the results he has seen with PondHawk’s subsurface solar aeration at work on golf course ponds.”
SmartInvest’s local partner is the Delaware Founders Initiative. DFI coordinated a recent event at Junior Achievement of Delaware, where they invited investors to hear about SmartInvest and consider investing in the fund that will invest in Delaware companies. Our very own Sandra Burton was there to share her thoughts on the program. “SmartInvest’s commitment to our business was remarkable. They spent more than 72 hours with us–challenging every business assumption, pulling apart business models, questioning our logic, and putting it all back together again. We came out with a much better company proposition.”
